CAUMARTIN (Louis-François Le Fèvre de). Procez verbal de la recherche de la noblesse de Champagne, fait par Monsieur de Caumartin, avec les armes et blazons de chaque famille. Châlons, Imprimerie de Seneuze, sd (1673). Small in-8, 160 pp. in speckled tan basane, spine decorated with fleur-de-lys caissons, red title page, red speckled edges (period binding). Upper spine trimmed otherwise a good copy. One of the two editions of the first edition, very rare. This is a reprint of the only procès-verbal included in the Recherches de la province de Champagne (Châlons, Seneuze, 1673, two volumes in-folio), intended for those who could not obtain the complete collection, very expensive and printed in small numbers, of the researches of nobility carried out by Lefèvre de Caumartin de Boissy d'Argouges (1624-1687), who was then intendant of Champagne from 1667 to 1673.
