Paris, Curmer, 1864. 2 vols. in-4 red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated, title and tom. gilt, very nice frame of lace and gilt filets and green morocco listel decorated with a gilt garland, roulette on the edges, int. lace, gilt tr. Very small lack in the tail cap of the 2nd volume, small black circle at the edge of the lower cover of the 2nd volume, qqs tiny rubbed. Incomplete of the 3rd and last part containing the text of the Gospels, illustrated with numerous photoglyphs. A very fine copy of this spectacular edition decorated with numerous magnificent chromolithograph plates drawn or inspired by medieval illuminated manuscripts. An impressive work of publisher and printer of the late nineteenth century.
