ARAD RON (b. 1951). Boat Eye Table for Bigelli Marmi. The ""Boat Eye Table"" consist of a thin layer of laminated marble and a feather light sheet of corrugated aluminum, whose border is highlighted rather than hidden. The space between the layers of aluminium is filled with "marble paste" in tones that go with those of the top, so that the "waves" seem to have been inlaid or set into the body of the item. The legs of the table are gotten from the waste that remains when the top is cut, which means that the entire laminated rectangular panel is used, not an inch if it being thrown away. Thanks to the Ron Arad Foundation for confirming the authenticity of the table (email). Literature: Domus n. 814, April 1999, p. 128. Cm 218,00 x 74,00 x 118,00. 1999
