NASA. Apollo 7 Mission. The opening of the target stage of the Saturn IVB rocket in Earth orbit will allow the Apollo mission crew to simulate a docking maneuver in Earth orbit. Once in Earth orbit, the Apollo crew turns the mission command module around and docks it to the lunar module. It is thus linked that the two spaceships carry out the translunar voyage.
