This is a bronze print of one of the allegorical figures representing the Constitution.
This figure was part of a monument to the memory of Dom Pedro I, Emperor of Brazil and King of Portugal. Carpeaux participated in 1865 in a competition organized by the city of Lisbon. His project was never selected.
