Yves HAYAT (1946-)
Composition
Inkjet print on plexiglass plate
116 x 73 cm
Trained at the Arts Déco de Nice, Yves Hayat worked for over thirty years in advertising before returning to art in the 2000s. The artist creates images, most often from photographs, then combines them with a support, mostly in Plexiglass and aluminum. He works the material, compresses it, distorts it to give it its expressiveness.
Defining himself as a "consciousness-raiser", he plays with the current banalization of the image and focuses on a detail to extract its beauty.
