ISPAHAN carpet (Iran), Shah's era, mid 20th century
Dimensions : 342 x 204cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
Four turquoise spandrels with arabesques and multicolored floral compositions enclose a marine field with rich floral scrolls, which supports in its center a floral medallion poly-lobed, starred, turquoise, ivory and brick. Three pastel counter borders frame the main brick border, all four being garlands of polychrome flowers. Navy braid.
