Pair of columns with Corinthian capitals. Spain, 17th century.
Carved, gilded and polychromed wood.
Faults in the carving, xylophages and losses.
Measurements: 103 x 16 x 16 cm.
Pair of carved wooden columns. With a slightly convex shaft, their grooves draw sinuous grooves. The capitals are Corinthian, following classical models of this composite order: the acanthus leaves form the tulip on which the volutes sit, and on this the abacus is smooth and fine.
