RING Gold, set with an intaglio on carnelian figuring Eros on a lion. Allegory of Love Triumphant (Amor Omnia Vincit). Eros is sitting on the shoulders of a lion and holding a whip whip with his left hand, while with his right hand he is holding on to the mane of the powerful feline. Both are facing the right. Allegory of Love subduing strength, triumphant. Beautifully executed, Gem of a bright red color. Signs of wear. Intaglio: XVIIth-XVIIIth century. 16 x 17 mm Mounting XIXth century, the bezel incised with concentric lines, the underside with petals.
