Johann RUDOLF FEYERABEND known as LELONG (Basel 1779-1814) "Still life with shotgun, powder flask, dove, wine, bread, cake and plants" gouache 15 x 20 cm (on view) Born into a family of artisans, the Swiss painter Johann Rudolf Feyerabend, also called Lelong, painted at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. His works are easily identifiable: he paints with gouache in very small formats. He uses heterogeneous objects, often borrowed from everyday life, to tell stories, following an established iconography.
