THREE BANG CHIANG VASES
DATING: 600-300 b.c.e.
MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: brown depured clay, white mottling, red paint, molded by slow potter's wheel.
One vase on broad trumpet foot with raised plastic ring and flared body; large olla with high everted rim, cylindrical neck, ovoid body, convex bottom; goblet jar with flared body and truncated foot
DECORATION: one decorated with stylized phytomorphic motifs, two with incised geometric designs
PRODUCTION: Thai pottery, Bang Chiang culture.
STATE OF CONSERVATION: one intact, two with restorations and small gaps
DIMENSIONS: height cm 43 to cm 14; mouth diameter cm 34 to cm 17.5
