SAROUK carpet (Iran), mid 20th century
Dimensions : 380 x 271cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
A brick field covered with a sowing of flowers in pastel colors, supports in its center a floral medallion, polylobed, vegetalized, polychrome. Four floral spandrels, ivory complete the whole. Two pale sky counter borders, with garlands, highlighted with flowers and sawtooth, frame the main ivory border with a succession of flowering corollas on stems.
