Important silk GHOUM carpet (Iran), shah period, mid 20th century
Dimensions : 400 x 300cm.
Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundation.
Density of 720 000 knots in a square meter.
A magnificent midnight blue and cream polylobed medallion, with flowery scrolls, is placed on a brick field, enriched by polychrome ramifications. Four spandrels ivory and cream, with plant arabesques, superimposed frame the whole. The main border blue night is surrounded by two counter borders ivory, they are all with floral garlands.
