BIDJAR carpet (Persia), end of the 19th century Dimensions : 380 x 270cm. Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation. A midnight blue field, jagged, hosts a trellis of symmetrical stylized floral compositions, composing a paving of starry and cruciform flowers, decorated with variegated birds. Six sky, ivory and old gold borders, with garlands of flowers and leaves, surround the main salmon border, with a series of multicolored corollas with a cruciform heart, placed on interlacing leafy stems, in the Caucasian taste.
