KACHAN carpet (Iran), circa 1930/40
Dimensions : 420 x 310cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
An octagonal fuchsia field covered with polychrome floral scrolls, supports a floral medallion, oblong, navy, with vegetal lattice and pistachio heart. The field is bordered by lotus flowers in majesty. Four spandrels with scrolls, navy, ivory, emerald, vegetalized frame the whole. Six counter borders, ivory and sky, with garlands of multicolored flowers surround the main navy with a succession of blooming corollas, protruding and colored. Stylized highlights.
