CHURCHILL WINSTON S.: (1874-1965) British Prime Minister 1940-45, 1951-55. Nobel Prize winner for Literature, 1953. A printed 8vo folding menu for a lunch held at the Town Hall in Antwerp in honour of Winston Churchill to mark the occasion of his appointment as an honorary citizen of Antwerp, Saturday, 17th November 1945, signed ('W S Churchill') by Churchill to the front cover, featuring an illustration taken from a copper engraving, depicting the first 'Exchange on the Continent' ('The English Exchange') at Antwerp, which served as a model for the plans of the Exchange of London, also signed by Mary Churchill (1922-2014) English author, the youngest child of Churchill. Further signed to the inside by Doswell Gullatt, a Colonel of the United States Army who served as Commandant of the port of Antwerp. Some traces of former mounting to the edges of the inside, being the remnants of previous framing. Some light staining and age wear, about VG
