The Spanish Gate (originally called the Ximenes Gate) is a monumental vaulted gate located in the district of Sidi El Houari (Dahli brothers street) built in 1589 on the orders of the Spanish captain general Don Pedro de Padilla. It is one of the most important vestiges still preserved from the Spanish period.
