Paris : Librairie classique-élémentaire, 1825. - In-8, light tan calf, cold and gilt framing and cold restoration plate in the center of the boards, spine with false nerves decorated, gilt roulette inside, gilt edges (Joublin).
Uncommon romantic edition of Félicité de La Mennais' translation. It is illustrated with 5 hors texte compositions engraved on copper from drawings by Devéria.
One of the copies on large vellum paper, including the figures before the letter on chine glued.
Rare contemporary binding signed by the Parisian bookbinder Joublin who practiced from the 1820s until at least 1849.
Spine faded, some minor wear and tear, corners slightly dulled. Some foxing.
