Dimensions: H: 160; W: 100 cm
My sculptures and paintings, mostly abstract, deal with human transformation and connection, freedom and harmony found in the masses.
Kingsley Ogwara was born in 1975 in Nigeria, where he completed his Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts degrees at Delta State University in Abrake. He now resides and works in Luxembourg. Painter and sculptor, artist Kingsley Ogwara often works with mass compositions, in search of harmony and organic patterns and forms.
His oil and acrylic knife paintings on canvas are characterized by abstract orchestrations of colors and textures that seem to take the form of masses. His sculptures in clay, stone, wood or metal are composed of concave and convex organic forms, mostly abstract or inspired by African or European images and symbols.
Ogwara has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Austria, among others, and received the prestigious Pierre Werner Prize for her paintings in Luxembourg in 2016.
