At the end of the war, Renault being nationalized and steel being scarce, no doubt that the 4CV takes the first place on the French market. That's why, in order to overcome this competition, the firm aims higher in range with the Simca 8. It is a sedan with an aerodynamic steel monocoque body, mounted on a chassis, equipped with a 4-cylinder engine of 1089.5 cc. Manufactured in the Simca factories in Nanterre under Fiat license, it is a medium-sized car, and had a brilliant career with its "pontoon" line between 1938 and 1951. The bodywork with no pillars between the doors and the grille are based on the tapered shapes of the Fiat 1500 revealed in November 1935. In May 1938, a Simca 8 sedan successively covered 10,000 km on the track (Montlhéry, average speed of over 115), 20,000 km on the road (average speed of 65, 6 liters per 100 km), and 20,000 km in Paris (average speed of 54, 6.5 per 100 km). This 50,000 km journey was a tremendous publicity coup. Magnificent Pininfarina convertible distributed in limited copies, with to date, 70 copies listed. Our example has only 38956km and is ready for the ride with its 4 cylinder engine of 1200 cm³ developing about 50 HP coupled to its 4 speed gearbox with gearbox.
