SIAM, SUKHOTAI period, 15th century. Important seated Buddha in bronze making the gesture of bhumisparsa mudra (witnessing the Earth symbolizing the victory over evil). Dressed in the monastic robe, his face expresses serenity. Height: 92 cm. Provenance: Acquired by the present owner from the Galerie Moderne in Brussels in the year 2000. Previously, a private collection in Belgium in the 70's.
