Au jour le jour, poem of 15 quatrains: "When of an irreparable loss / One keeps in the heart the memory"... A child's word, poem of 7 quatrains dated Chatenay, 1862 : "I love children, all up, in front of themselves"... These poems were sent to Alphonse SCHELER for him to recite them.
The letter of October 11, 1875 recommends Scheler, who "says the verses with much heart and talent. I was delighted with the way he interpreted some of my poems"... Tuesday [April 25, 1876], on Scheler's collection, "of a sweet and noble sentiment. I told you what I thought of versification; it would require an art of which you would soon be master, but art is not all poetry"... January 11, 1900, he reproaches her for not having returned to him some precious documents, which make "a big gap" in his archives, and refuses to send an unpublished poetry for a conference: "I only versify very exceptionally"...
