CANALETTO / VISENTINI - RARE - "Urbis Venetiarium prospectus celebriores / ex Antonii Canal tabulis XL Aere Expressi ab Antonio VISENTINI, MDCCXLII". Venetiis: Apud Theodorum Viero (c.1750-1819) In Via Mercatoria Vul. Dell'Orologio, [ca. 1800?] [Views of VENICE]. Engraved plates by Antonio VISENTINI (1688-1782), after drawings by Antonio CANALETTO (1697-1768). RARE work complete of the 3 parts, that is 38 plates + the title and the frontispiece (with the portraits of Canaletto and Visentini) signed as drawn and engraved by Ant. Visentini after the monochrome of Io. Bapt. Piazzetta. Proofs on laid paper. Ref: "Les graveurs de Venise au XVIIIe siècle dans la collection Mancel du Musee des Beaux-Arts de Caen" [exhibition catalog] (1992), nos. 86-127. No publication date is given on the title page of this edition, published by Viero. The exhibition catalog, "I Rami Di Visentini Per Le Vedute Di Venezia Del Canaletto" (1990) suggests a publication date between 1800 and 1820. Modern binding in red morocco. Rare and very beautiful work from the collection of Piotr Jeglinski (born in Warsaw in 1951). Oblong, 39 x 55 cm the album. Condition A (very good condition). Beautiful complete edition of Visentini's faithful engravings of Canaletto's views of Venice.
