Paris : Le vavasseur, 1834. One volume in-8°. Bound in full red morocco, smooth spine decorated with cold fillets in place of the nerves, cold fillet on the sides.ORIGINAL EDITION (Tulard : 707). Hortense de Beauharnais, Queen of Holland was the daughter of Empress Josephine, daughter-in-law of Napoleon I, mother of Napoleon III. As for the copy of Prince Victor Napoleon (Sale Osénat 24/03/2013, n°23), our copy seems to have been printed on China paper, which is very unusual for the period. Ex-libris applied on the 1st counterplate of Corticchiato (José Corti).some foxing sometimes on the first and last leaves mainly, some rubbing and stains on the binding, small split in the tail. A GOOD EDITION, enriched with a handwritten letter signed by Queen Hortense, on the title: "to Madame Salvage de Faverolles on behalf of the author.
