PAIR OF VERY SMALL BRACKETS
IN HALF-MOON SHAPE
Lombardy, 18th century.
Richly carved and gilded wood.
H. 79 cm W. 49 cm D. 33 cm
Small scattered chips of gilding.
The central flower of one of them is later
and has been reassembled.
The garland on the right is missing.
They stand on two cambered feet with volutes
and clasps. A long acanthus leaf surrounds
each foot. The belt is carved with a
frieze of twisted laurels. The trays are in
painted wood imitating white marble and
must have been temporary.
