WITH SIX GLAZED SIDES
Beautiful work executed in the 19th century.
Chased and gilded bronze.
H. 160 cm L. 99 cm
Complete with its side windows but without its bottom window and
and without its smoke screen.
Drilled for electrification.
The top of a foliage slightly rubbed without missing.
Excellent condition.
It opens with a side door. The candlestick is with six arms of light in console with rocaille binet and jagged cups.
Our model is the same as the lantern entered in the palace
of Fontainebleau on September 19, 1868 for the Louis Philippe staircase (Louis XV wing)

- In the 18th century, the merchant Lazare Duvaux in his book-journal
indicates the sale of several six-sided lanterns in gilded bronze and furnished with
with a candlestick. They are all intended for Madame de Pompadour:
three for Bellevue in 1750, another in 1751, two models for the castle
of Crécy.
Finally, in 1758, three lanterns are delivered for the castle of Saint-Hubert.
