A pair of tall cylindrical bamboo vases decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e lacquer with pavilions in the mist and weaving figures, flown over by a pair of cranes. Enclosed in a sinister bronze mount with a golden and brown patina featuring elephant heads at the base, partially openwork branches and salamanders forming side holds.
