Shulawitsa is the personification of the fire spirit. Rather than a costume, the dancer has his body coated with corn charcoal mixed with water and ground with his hands. He carries a bow and arrow and appears in Pamuya (kiva dance) on the first mesa. On the second mesa, he corresponds to Kokosori among the Hopi (Colton n°9).
