Native Americans have widely used (and continue to use for some) the cradleboard, called Tikinagan in Cree. Designed for travelling, the portable cradle allows to take the child everywhere. It can be made of a reed or woven pine frame, or of a board on which the cradle itself is tied and into which the child is slid.
