Provenance and geographical origin according to the owner: Acquired in France in the 1970/80s.
Muzribi is the kachina of the bean. In the version described by Fewkes in 1903, he wears a green mask with a red tube mouth. The lateral spirals painted on the mask symbolize the germinative development of the plant. Our specimen shows variations from the description, which is regular at that time.
Old kachina, probably commercial, because the marks on the mask are painted backwards from the ritual pattern and the ears are not flat as expected.
