ANG-AK-CHINA Katsina Kachina with long hair (Colton 127) Soft wood, pigments, string, fibers. North America, United States, Pueblo. Natural rubbing and wear, plexiglass base. Beautiful trade kachina conforming in style, of large size, wearing the half mask embellished with a feathered beard figured in paint, the body painted with a black background, the shoulders covered with yellow drips, the arms attached to the torso holding a branch of Douglas fir. The kilt is white with a painted side belt of stepped sky stairs. The legs are separated and slightly bent, the feet shod with green moccasins. The whole sculpture renders a dance movement.
