COMMODE with sides and front in crossbow, veneered with rosewood and violet wood, inlaid with chevrons and geometric patterns. It opens with four drawers on three rows, separated by brass flutes. Rich ornamentation of chased and gilded bronzes. Top of red veined marble from Flanders (small cracks in the front, small lacks at the back of the marble).

François Lieutaud, Parisian cabinetmaker (1665-1748). Father of Charles and grandfather of Balthazard. He worked with André-Charles Boulle (1642-1732), for the crown of Louis XIV and had the privilege to cast his own characteristic bronzes.
