Second edition, following the first one by one year, of Bonaparte's campaign in Egypt from a strictly military point of view by Louis-Alexandre Berthier, prince of Neuchâtel and Valangin, prince of Wagram (1753-1815), then Napoleon's general before the latter made him marshal of the Empire.
Provenance: the general of the Revolution and the Empire Jean-Baptiste Meynier (1749-1813), who left his typographical ex-libris on the reverse of the cover as well as two handwritten ex-libris on the title and faux-title pages.
Binding a little rubbed with small leather tears on the spine, visible angular wetness on a quarter of the leaves, some foxing. (Davois, I, 82).
