A JADE EMBELLISHED WOOD ALTAR SCREEN OR TABLE SCREEN CHINA, QING DYNASTY It is composed of two parts, the base or stand, with four short legs, and the table screen panel, which is removable. The mounts are applied with ornamental wooden panels together with two movable aprons, all open-worked with auspicious designs such as key-frets and ruyi scrolls. The screen panel is adorned and open-worked the same way. Its front part is centered and embellished by a domed white jade plaque carved in low-relief with Daoist immortals beneath a pine tree within a rocky landscape. Its back part is centered by an oval mirror, likely a later addition.
