The copperplates in magnificent and detailed old color with depictions of exotic plants. "Thus, these Plantae selectae have become the most beautiful German plant work; indeed, even among the works of foreign countries, there are probably only a few that can compete with it at all" (Nissen). It appeared from 1750 sheet by sheet, which were then combined into decuria and altogether should make up a centuria. Trew, however, did not live to see its completion; in 1764-66, only the 7th decurie was finished, and from the 73rd plate on, until 1773, the Altdorf professor B. Chr. Vogel edited the work." (Nissen) - Title page in red, black and gold. On the plant plates, the main plant names are heightened in gold. - 12 text leaves and 3 plates somewhat waterstained - With 100 col. copper plates. 2 (of 3 portraits (the one of Haid is missing).
