Mupassi Za Mezo (1945 - 1991) is a very talented artist. In 1968 he won the Grand Prix of the International Competition of Art Critics of Africa and went to study in Italy. In 1974 he returned to the Institute of National Museums. Mumpasi is a deep believer, which is reflected in his religious compositions. Very close to the Congolese daily life, he transposes with great finesse the traditional life and biblical scenes in his work.
His son is also a successful painter since the 2010s and produces colorful mosaics appreciated worldwide.
