Güldnes Schatz-Kästlein der Kinder Gottes, deren Schatz im Himmel ist... 18th new edition. Halle, Waisenhaus 1748. qu.12° 4 leaves, 365 leaves, 4 leaves with title in red and black. Black printed boards with rich gilt spine, gilt cover vignettes in gilt ornamental frames and gilt edges and colored brocade paper endpapers in gilt. Brocade paper endpapers in gilt slipcase of the time (chap. with small missing part). Cf. Faber du Faur 1477, Goed. Besides Bogatzky's "Tägliches Haus-Buch" and the collection of spiritual songs "Die Übung der Glückseligkeit" his most important and successful work. - Carl Heinrich v. Bogatzky (1690-1774) was one of the most prolific edification writers from the school of A. H. Francke, he also wrote numerous hymns still known today. - Front endpaper with contemporary notes. Notes, only occasionally lightly spotted, good copy in decorative baroque binding.
