Ivan CHOULTSÉ (1874 Saint Petersburg - 1939 Nice) The Rocks of Faraglioni, Capri, circa 1920 Oil on canvas 65 x 81 cm Provenance: -Delente Collection, "Au Vase Etrusque -By descent, Alliaume Collection -Then by descent to the present owner Because of the Russian Revolution of 1917, Choultsé went to Western Europe. He painted mainly landscapes of Switzerland, southern France and Italy. Nicknamed "the magician of light" because of the realism of his works, his fame was worldwide.
