We find on several engravings or ornamental drawings of tables or other furniture whose base rests on comparable winged terms, like on a plate of the suite of the "Book of tables which are in the apartments of the king on which are posed the jewels of the cabinet of the medals" engraved by Pierre Lepautre (1652 - 1716), or on older drawings due to the architect and sculptor of Dijon Jean Dubois (1625 - 1694), or later, attributed to Nicolas Pineau (1684 - 1754). We do not know who commissioned this table, but its high quality of execution seems to indicate a sculptor from the entourage of the Bâtiments du Roi.
