Small image box with a wooden core covered with leather and partially lined with iron blades. The domed lid conceals a colored xylogravure borrowing from the style of John of Ypres a representation of Christ on the cross surrounded by St. John and the Virgin. It has kept its original canvas inside. It opens with a lock with a hasp. The sides are each decorated with two iron loops. Around 1480. H. 7 W.8,5 D.11 cm. Our box has come to us in an exceptional state of preservation. It is one of the smallest known examples and can be compared to the box with Saint Apolline kept in the Cluny Museum under the inventory number: CL. 1612.
