ATTRIBUTED TO ANDRE ANTOINE RAVRIO PAIR OF EGG TANKS of ovoid form in patinated bronze and gilded bronze, the body decorated with water leaves, openwork palmettes and a torus, the handles in scrolls with griffin heads, ending in scrolls and a mascaron. They rest on a round base and a quadrangular pedestal in molded griotte marble Empire period (small chips in the marble) 13,5 H: 37 cm Provenance: Jean LEFEVRE Collection (1908- 1965), architect. A painting by François-Henri RIESENER, dated 1812 and preserved in the Louvre Museum (INV 7488 and MN 36), represents the bronzemaker André Antoine Ravrio with a ewer on his desk quite comparable to the pair we present
