In-4 [278 x 219] of a frontispiece, (6) ff. the first 2 and the fifth blank, 240 pp, (4 ff. last blank), 15 plates : burgundy morocco, on the first board figure inlaid in leather 12 pieces of ivory representing the 12 Chinese astrological signs chased, gilt and painted, smooth spine, black box lining surrounded by a wide burgundy morocco frame decorated with two gilt fillets and a black fillet, and four white box squares at the corners, gilt leather endpapers, gilt edges, cover and spine preserved, burgundy morocco spine and overlapping bands folder, case (Alix). Edition of 97 numbered copies, illustrated with 16 watercolors out of text by Foujita (1886-1968) reproduced in facsimile in the workshops of Daniel Jacomet. ONE OF THE 50 COPIES ON JAPON IMPÉRIAL (N° 66), CONTAINING FIVE STATES OF THE ILLUSTRATIONS. A very nice copy. It is enriched with an original black and white photograph : it represents an opium smoker.
