Anna de Noailles attended Bergson's lectures at the Collège de France. She was brought there for the first time by the poet Henri Franck, a relative of Henri Bergson. The latter had just given her the "tie": she was, in fact, the first woman to be promoted to the rank of Commander of the Order of the Legion of Honor.
