He dealt with it several times. Apart from the motif of the Three Graces, known in art history through the reception of antiquity, Man Ray's figures in motion stand for the further development of his art. From the increasing dissolution of his representational painting announces the tendency of turning to abstract painting, influenced by the encounter with Marcel Duchamp. In this respect, the year 1915 is seminal for the artist's further work, symbolizing the change from representational to abstract. The "Figurative Scene" is an example of this.
