A BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN POURING VESSEL (KENDI) WITH FLORAL MOTIFS
China, Wanli period (1563-1620). Potted with a compressed globular body with mammiform spout surmounted by a cylindrical neck rising into a garlic mouth, the exterior painted in intense cobalt blue with Kraak-style floral panels, all supported on a short foot.
Condition: With a repair to the mouth and foot rim, some fritting to the underside rim, with minor firing imperfections.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by a second-generation member of the Holzapfel family and has remained in the family ever since.
