MAP OF THE DUCHE OF BRITAIN by BLAEU. "Britannia Ducatus. - Duchy of Bretaigne.". First state with three compass roses, two ships and two giants taking measurements with a compass on the scale. Amsterdam, 1635.
Height : 38,4 cm. Width : 52,2 cm (bowl). (Freckles, stains, restoration, central fold).
Blaeu was cartographer for the Dutch East India Company in 1633 and 1634. This map is published in "Le Théâtre du monde ou Nouvel Atlas" in 1635.
