This mask from the Magar region in the Himalayas is part of the masks sculpted by the shamans appearing at the time of protection rituals, during festivals linked to the lunar calendar, or at the time of rites of passage. A piece of red wax seal is found inside the mask indicating the authorization to leave the territory by the Nepalese authorities. Belgian collection.
