A large console table in natural oak with carved scrolls, rocaille and florets. It rests on four openwork and carved feet joined by a spacer with a rocaille shell (small accidents and missing parts). Louis XV period. Ht: 86 cm - Lg: 143 cm - Pf: 67 cm. Model to be compared with a drawing of the architect Pierre Contant d'Ivry (1698-1777), made for the game room of the Palais Royal around 1753. The consoles were indeed often designed by architects because they were integrated into a decor of woodwork, creating a coherent whole, a case ready to receive the furniture.
