Important statuette representing Madame de Pompadour as Galatea, represented as an opera singer wearing a large crinoline skirt that she holds with her left hand, with polychrome and gold decoration. The skirt is decorated with floral motifs on a purple background and draped with a train decorated with bunches of flowers from India. The base is decorated with flowers in relief and rocaille motifs.
This statuette goes together with the model of the prince of Rohan in Arcis; they refer to the third act of the opera Acis and Galatea by Lully which was played in Versailles in 1749.
