Italy, late seventeenth, early eighteenth century Eucharistic chasuble with rich floral embroidery in gold thread for the scrolls, bows, hooks and scrolls, polychrome silks for flowers, branches and leaves, called "in two places" on two funds in wholesale Tours, ivory and red. Embroidered braid of gold thread in couchure, canetille, and flat stitch gold and silver. Front: Height 115 Width 63.5 cm. Back: Height 115 Width 74 cm. Provenance: - according to a handwritten certificate attached: offered by the Duchess of Parma, Louise Marie Thérèse d'Artois (Paris, 1819-1864, Venice), sister of the Count of Chambord, to the Mother House of the Congregation of the Daughters of the Cross, Sisters of Saint Andrew, in La Puye in the Vienne. - Josiane and Daniel Fruman collection. A late 16th-early 17th century Italian embroidered chasuble depicting the Holy Eucharist. A gift from the Duchess of Parma to the Congregation of the Sisters of the Cross.
